Gamma was started by two close friends, Gabriele Ghetti and Carla Botti, who shared a common passion for furniture. They each contributed their successful back rounds in administration and leather products to create Gamma International - from one small company that manufactured leather sofas only available in Italy. Gamma’s development was supported on the values of providing original, high quality products which brought the company international success. “Gamma USA” is a leader in the high-end upholstery business in the united states, and is also distributed in 64 countries worldwide.
Gamma’s production process is one of the company’s top strengths. Gamma processes its own raw wood, put it through a tough examination to eliminate flaws. The frames are carefully constructed and only the finest materials are used. Gamma only uses the best raw materials available, and when it comes to the leather they make no compromises. Bull hides from Italy and northern Europe are used not only for their size, but also the fact that the bulls run free, without restriction and marring from enclosures. The different categories of leather allow the customer to choose many looks and finishes, without affecting the softness. Among the many gorgeous leathers, Gamma also offers 450 colors of stitching, and 12 different styles. They can also customize items if specific sizes are needed, however most models have several sizes available for production.
From start to finish, each piece Gamma produces is constantly monitored to ensure the standards of quality are being met. One person, except for the cutting and sewing of the hides, constructs, upholsters and finishes each sofa. A remarkable feat for a company that distributes hand-made sofas all over the world.
